Observe Fossil Fuel Consumption Patterns, urges Energy Minister

Montserrat’s new Energy Minister Dr. Samuel Joseph is asking residents to take a serious look at the consumption trends from the use of fossil fuels.

Dr. Joseph says the time has come for Montserrat to move with the times and move to a more sustainable, green, connected and thriving economy. He was at the time providing remarks at the opening of a panel discussion mounted Friday morning by the Energy Unit within the Ministry of Communications, Works, Energy and Labour Friday morning at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.

The Energy Minister cautions that the world is changing drastically and there will be yet another change in the next five years.

He says Montserrat needs to position itself to embrace the wind of change that is being ushered in with consumption patterns

The panel discussion focused on key questions focusing on the current state of the energy sector on island.

The conversation covered different ways to make the successful transition from the use of fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
