Montserrat’s Minister of Education has been explaining the employment and training options for secondary school leavers.

Minister Delmaude Ryan explained that there are not enough jobs for graduates, a situation which will require them to enter into short term employment and training programmes to build their skills and knowledge.

She was addressing 5th formers at the end of a three day school leaver’s seminar on Friday.

Minister Ryan says the revamped Youth Apprenticeship Program will now allow for work experience up to 2 years, compared to that of the 6-8 months that was previously offered.

The Programme restarts on July 1st.
