MSS Second Form Student Passes Economics O'level

A second form student at the Montserrat Secondary School (MSS) has found success early in one Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exam.

Jahmari Meade is the first person on Montserrat to pass an O-level in economics or any other subject, in that form, at his age.

Jahmari was identified for his exceptional skills by Agricultural Science Teacher, Claude Gerald.

He was encouraged to follow the program for 1 year.  He wrote the exam in June and obtained a grade 2.

Jahmari is expected to begin his A - levels in the subject in September and to complete it in record time.

Meade took Economics privately as it is not taught at the school.

Mr. Gerald is of the view that many students in lower classes of the MSS can take subjects at the O Level.

He says he is prepared to dig deeper into this concept and is prepared to prove that accomplished students can get up to 4 O level subjects before they reach form 4.

The Ministry of Education has not yet released the official CXC CSEC results to the public.

However, students on Montserrat have started to access their grades via CXC’s online portal.
