Warren Solomon Gets Job as Director of Tourism

Warren Solomon, a national of Trinidad and Tobago has been appointed Director of Tourism.

Mr Solomon took up his post on Monday February 4th.

He is holder of Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies and Spanish from the  St Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

He has completed professional certification in a number of areas at The George Washington University and the University of Surrey, to include: · Strategic Planning & Project Development; · International Project Management; · Innovative Techniques for capturing specialized markets; ·Tourism Destination Marketing; · Tourism Planning and Development, and; · Self-packaging and Special Interest Niche Markets.

Mr Solomon is a travel, tourism and hospitality professional with over 15 years’ experience at the senior management level, having worked in the airline, hotel and destination management sectors. 

Some of positions held, include: · General Manager, Marketing & Acting CEO, Tourism Development Company in Trinidad; · Director of Tourism, Tobago House of Assembly, Division of Tourism and Transportation; · Director of Sales, Crowne Plaza Hotel Trinidad · Vice President, Tourism – Tourism & Industrial Development Company of Trinidad; · and Marketing & Promotions Manager, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

Additionally, Mr Solomon has maintained professional affiliations with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, having served on the Board of Directors and also the Association of Travel Marketing Executives.

According to the Office of the Premier he brings a wealth of experience in understanding the nuances of managing and promoting destinations considered “off-the-beaten path” and is keen to begin working with all Montserratian stakeholders to realize the implementation of the Tourism Master Plan 2015-2025.
