A social activist and pan Africanist has challenged the view that the St. Patrick’s Day slave uprising was a failure.

Chedmon Browne says the March 17th rebillion against oppression was part of a resistance that brought about emancipation in the 1800's.

In St. Patrick's Day programme Talking Logic he pointed out that rebellions against the inhumane treatment of slavery began well before 1768.
