Montserrat Represented at Region’s Chief Medical Officer COVID-19 Meeting

Montserrat, was last week, represented at a high-level senior medical officers meeting which sought to provide an update on the regional and national COVID-19 response.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Shara Greenaway-Duberry, recently attended the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) Chief Medical Officers COVID-19 Meeting from Wednesday 6 April to Thursday 7 April in Trinidad.

The meeting saw the regions CMO’s discussing safe and sustainable strategic initiatives in the new era of COVID-19, and advise on optimal ways of working and responding to the ongoing challenges of COVID-19 and the resultant effects on the health status of CARICOM.

Meantime, Trinidad’s Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh believes the region must be prepared for future pandemics, and ensure the issue of vaccine inequity is no longer a problem.

Speaking at CARPHA’s Meeting of Chief Medical Officers on Wednesday, he said the issue of vaccine access during the COVID-19 pandemic must not go unnoticed.
