A Call for a Re-Look into Approaches Towards Economic Sustainability for the Island
An outspoken economist and financial analyst is cautioning the government of the day to re-look its approaches towards economic development for Montserrat.
Peter Queeley says for far too long successive governments pin their hopes on aid for specific projects which, although important and necessary, does not help to grow the economy.
He says the focus now needs to be on the sectors, services and products to make Montserrat financially sustainable.
