A call for more assistance for the people of Montserrat in what are considered “harsh economic times.”

A former premier, now opposition member of parliament is making a case for residents of Montserrat to be afforded more assistance in what he says are “harsh economic times.”

Honourable Donaldson Romeo, while applauding the government for two welcomed and timely interventions with supporting household electricity bills and food, says that much more needs to be done to help to alleviate the daily hardships that residents are suffering.

Mr Romeo points out that job losses and a crippling economic downturn have, in many instances, forced people to migrate elsewhere in order to make a decent living, among other challenges.
