Political Strategist Cautions Leaders on Ambitious Promises

A regional political strategist has cautioned the government of Montserrat and other regional governments against what she calls “biting off more than they can chew.”

Jamaican Maureen Webber says it is all well and good to go into office claiming that one is ready to do the job at hand. She however feels that setting attainable targets should be the order of the day.

The regional political strategist emphasizes that for any meaningful economic development to take place, a government should not pledge or promise to do a 10-year job in 4 years. Webber says in her view this is a “ransomed move.”

Webber was a guest on the most recent “Brain Power” Radio programme hosted by Shirley Osborne
