Montserrat’s Health Sector Acquires Two Ambulances from United Kingdom
The Ministry of Health has received two Mercedes “TraumaHawk” Sprinter ambulances from the United Kingdom government.
The ambulances were procured through support by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Governor, Her Excellency Harriet Cross, who handed over the keys to the ambulances in a brief ceremony on Friday, explained the necessity for ambulances with updated medical technology.
She also described some of the features of the new vehicles.
Meantime, Minister for Health, Dr. the Honourable Ingrid Buffonge expressed her excitement in receiving the ambulances and expressed gratitude to those involved in their procurement.
Chief Fire officer, Vaquel Murrain also made brief remarks at the ceremony.
He praised the work of the fire officers thus far, and reminded everyone that it is a shared responsibility to protect and serve.
