Montserrat’s New Governor Pledges to Work with Key Stakeholders to Help Preserve Montserrat’s Unique Ecological and Cultural Heritage

Governor, Her Excellency Harriet Cross has articulated her recognition of how precious the environment is to the people of Montserrat.

She was at the time delivering her first official speech after being sworn in at a recent special sitting of the Legislative Assembly at the Montserrat Cultural Centre in Little Bay.

Governor Cross said that she has also seen the dedication to ensuring that the island remains a haven of biodiversity and beauty for generations to come.

His Majesty the King’s representative here has pledged to cherish and work with the local government and stakeholders to preserve Montserrat’s unique ecological and cultural heritage as part of sustainable economic development for the island.
