Premier of Montserrat Doubles Down on Commitment to Include Diaspora Nationals in Economic Development

Premier, the Honourable Reuben T. Meade has doubled down on his governments commitment to include diaspora nationals in the economic development of the island going forward.

He explains that the government of Montserrat is aiming to ensure that the requisite human development capacity is in place to maintain sustainability of economic development in and for Montserrat.

Premier Meade says his administration is providing training where there are no skills available, incorporating persons in the diaspora with those on island.

According to the leader of government business, every effort will be made to tie in investment and other areas, including healthcare, in the training programme.

Premier Meade was responding recently to questions posed about overseas nationals contributing to Montserrat’s development on the “Territories Talk” programme, hosted by Shirley Osborne.
