Opposition Leader Urges Incread Attention to Climate Preparedness after Flooding Hits Montserrat Ahead of Hurricane Season

Montserrat’s general preparedness for climatologist events must be seen as critical, especially in light of flooding caused by heavy rainfall which impacted several areas across the island recently.

The words of leader of the parliamentary opposition, Honourable Paul Lewis.

His comments come as Montserrat and other Eastern Caribbean islands get ready for the start of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane season which runs from June 1st to November 30th.

With the damage caused to critical infrastructure, including the road network islandwide, Honourable Lewis calls for a revisit of mitigation plans for coastal defence.
