Dulcie James and Dr. Handscombe Receive Royal Recognition

Two exceptional individuals in Montserrat have been recognized in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025 Overseas and International List.

Her Excellency, Governor, Her Excellency Harriet Cross, announced that 𝐃𝐮𝐥𝐜𝐢𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Public and Financial Services and Community Development in Montserrat.

She is a Policy Advisor in the Ministry of Finance and a Retired Commissioner at the FSC.

𝐃𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐞, a volunteer archivist at the Montserrat National Trust Montserrat, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the preservation of Cultural and Historical Records in Montserrat.

Governor Cross extended her warmest congratulations to both recipients and expressed deep appreciation for their invaluable contributions to Montserrat’s progress and heritage.
